Vale do Lobo is located just 20 minutes from Faro airport and is set along a 2km stretch of sandy white beach. Founded in 1962 it was the first development in the Algarve and was developed into a unique resort by a Dutch entrepreneur in 1977. 30 years later, Vale do Lobo is a mature, 400 hectare resort attracting both residents and visitors from all over Europe.
Within the resort you will find everything you need to make your stay an enjoyable one. Sports facilities include one of the largest tennis centres in Portugal, a lawn bowling club and 2 beautiful golf courses- the Royal and the Ocean. The sports centre of Barringtons offers squash courts, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jacuzzi, fitness classes and a restaurant. The recently opened Royal Spa offers a variety of treatments such as massage, facial treatments and holistic therapies. There are 15 first class restaurants within the resort offering Italian, Chinese and Portuguese cuisine. There are a number of bars including the popular Monty’s bar where you can partake in a spot of late night Karaoke should you be feeling brave enough!
The beach at Vale do Lobo is perfect for relaxing and spending some of the 300 days of sunshine that the Algarve benefits from every year. For the more adventurous there are watersports after which you can sip a cocktail at one of the beach bars whilst taking in the fabulous view.
