Carvoeiro is a small bustling village in central Algarve nestled in a picturesque bay some 50 kilometres from Faro. Luz is located in the West Algarve region and is situated between the popular resorts of Lagos and Burgau. Praia da Luz (Beach of Light) is a resort developed around the old fishing vilage. The beach is a Blue Flag beach and as well as clear waters and golden sands you will find remnants of volcanic activity at the far end of the beach-this is known as the Rocha Negra or Black Rock area. It is close to this area that is said to be a great location for surfers. There is also a range of watersports available on the beach. If you prefer to take in some history then visit the church Nossa Senhora da Luz. This church was badly damaged in the Lisbon earthquake of 1755 but has been restored and it is from this church that the village takes it’s name.

Vale da Telha is located on the west coast of the Algarve and is situated in the Costa Vicentina National Park. Sagres is a small, quiet town close to Cape St Vincent, the most south-westerly point of Portugal and Europe. Here you will find an impressive lighthouse that provides a powerful guiding beam directing hundreds of ships safely passed the Cape every year. The surrounding cliffs present a very dramatic sight with their impressive height and the vast Atlantic Ocean thrashing down below. Later on in the day, people often gather here to watch the spectacular sunsets.

Salema is a fishing village just 5-10 minutes drive west of Burgau nestled in a secluded bay surrounded by sun baked ochre cliffs. Burgau is a small fishing village in the west Algarve around one hours drive from Faro airport. It is a peaceful and friendly location with a unique charm that appeals to everyone. Access to the beach can be quite challenging as 2 main cobbled roads leading down to it are quite steep but the journey is well worth it! The beach is sheltered by cliffs and bathing in the sea there can be a real joy. There are lots of good places to eat in Burgau with the beach bar being very popular and in a prime location overlooking the sea. Other restaurants include a pizza restaurant (Casa Padaria Pizzara), D Dinis (they will pick you up and drop you back to your apartment after) and the popular Pigs Head Pub on the main road out of Burgau in the direction of Luz.
